Dark Matter, 2011-2012
Transfer color, charcoal and metallic pigment on paper
…“Dark Matter” originate in the empty void of a 3D modeling program. The serie investigate the relationship between virtual 3-dimensional space and the translation of that space into the flat rectangle of a drawing. “Dark Matter” takes its name from the unknown matter that makes up 27% of the universe, according to current scientific research; only 5% of the observable universe as we know it is visible. Drawing allows the “dark matter” contained within the mind to manifest in the tangible world. As such, it is the essential first step in bringing a new design, form, idea, or building to life…”
